King & Wood Mallesons recruits key Asia lawyer from Herbert Smith Freehills

---

As Singapore continues to strengthen its position as a crucial business hub in the Asia-Pacific region, many international law firms are looking to increase their implementation and presence in the city

The latest significant development comes from King & Wood Mallesons (KWM): the new signing of Herber Smith Freehills' private equity partner in its Singapore office, Nicola Yeomans

While Yeomans will join the KWM team in early 2022, her signing will greatly strengthen the firm's strategic presence in Singapore and Asia. Yomans is a safe bet: with extensive experience in the private equity, private capital and M&A industry (including complex transactions in Southeast Asia and India), she has been recognised by Chambers Global, Chambers Asia Pacific, Legal 500 and Who's Who Legal

Wang Junfeng, KWM's global chairman emphasised the importance of Yeomans' addition to the firm's expansion in the Asian region:

"Our aspiration is to build an international top-tier law firm from the region. We’re delighted to have a leading practitioner of Nicola’s calibre share our vision and we expect her to play a critical role in the further development of our unique Asia-centric strategy."

With the addition of Nicola, KWM is assured of a quality professional in its Singapore office, with other recent hires: John Shum (Banking & Finance), Amanda Lees (Litigation), Jake Robson (Corporate) and Nick Davies (Corporate).

This team is expected to ensure the firm's operational success in competitive markets such as Australia, China and Hong Kong.

"We’re excited by the opportunities Nicola’s appointment will open up for KWM and our clients and we look forward to welcoming her to our partnership." said Sue Kench, Global Managing Director of KWM.
