From law to the launch of a DEI consultancy: the case of Jon Henes

Jon Henes, former restructuring partner at Kirkland & Ellis, has announced the creation of C Street Advisory Group, an innovative strategic consulting project focused on diversity and inclusion.

The initiative is aimed at companies, CEOs and boards of directors, as well as advising when a firm is in a time of crisis, or is looking for talented professionals, or when diversity and inclusion are at the forefront of the recruitment process. They will also provide consultancy assistance in corporate and communication matters.

On its website, C Street Advisory Group stresses the importance of diversity and inclusion in today's market:

"As the power of diversity, equity and inclusion becomes more evident in all corners of the business world, the C Street team advises our clients to understand their own ethics and put them at the centre of business decisions and operations".

Henes has an extensive background in the legal industry, having spent two decades at Kirkland & Ellis, and has been involved in the legal world serving as finance chair of Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign.

At the moment, C Street Advisory Group has a staff of 14 professionals, some of them from the legal profession, others from consulting, plus a trainee.

One of the firm's notable professionals will be Alvin Tillery, who will head up the firm's DEI (Diversity, Equality and Inclusion) department. His CV is impeccable, having worked for more than 25 years in Fortune 500 companies.

More and more firms are developing measures to encourage the recruitment of inclusive and diverse talent. As globalisation has taken hold in our cities, so has the way we work, the way we interact with clients, opening up the possibility of working in the same department from different countries.
