Law firms are constantly changing personnel in key positions. But few are as important these days as marketing and client relations

Clifford Chance has announced the new leadership of a key department for law firms: Client & Market Development. 

Mike Kachel and Micol Scabbia will lead this department, which in trn will form part of the firm's executive operations group. While Kachel will remain in the New York office, Scabbia will be based in Milan, leading the Market Development and Client departments in the Americas and Europe regions, respectively.

Kachel joined the firm in 2008, with prior communications and marketing leadership experience at several Fortune 500 companies, including GE businesses, Genworth Financial and Marsh McLennan.  

Scabbia, on the other hand, joined Clifford Chance in 2003, with previous marketing experience at companies such as Deloitte and Andersen.

The department that Kachel and Scabbia will lead is of great importance for the near future of the law firm. They will lead activities focused on the firm's economic strategy, strengthen partner and client relationships, analyse data management and lead the firm's dealings with legal directories, the latter of which is of great importance to the firm in terms of its international exposure and influence.

According to Clifford Chance, Clifford Chance is the top-ranked firm in the Chambers Global 2021 categories, having been awarded Band 1 on 125 occasions, and 72 Band 2 awards. 

With respect to legal departments, Clifford Chance is a leader, according to Chambers Global 2021, in Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate/M&A, Dispute Resolution, Insurance, Private Equity, among others.  

The firm is excited about the new role given to Kachel and Scabbia:
