Baker McKenzie strengthens its position by hiring major specialists

Baker McKenzie is reinforcing its Geneva team with five experts in the fields of White-Collar Crime/Compliance & Investigations, Real Estate and Tax as of 1 September 2020, thereby underlining the importance of the Geneva office for the French-speaking Swiss market.

The existing team of Simon Ntah as partner and Adriana Garcia Kapeller and Louise Steinfels as associates will join Baker McKenzie’s Geneva office as of 1 September 2020, expanding the renowned White-Collar Crime/Compliance & Investigations Practice under Zurich partner Christoph Kurth. All three have extensive experience in the field of national and international white-collar crime, as well as in all areas of national and international dispute resolution.

“We are delighted to have Simon and his team join us. This now enables us to support our Swiss and multinational clients in Geneva in partnership with our global team. The new addition also significantly boosts our expertise in the area of white-collar crime investigation in Switzerland,” says Christoph Kurth, Head of the Swiss Compliance & Investigations Practice Group.

Another new recruit at Baker McKenzie is Charles Gschwind, a well-established expert in the area of real estate transactions. As Senior Associate, he will act as Co-Head of the Geneva Practice Group alongside Olivier Ducrey, thereby boosting Baker McKenzie’s renowned Real Estate Practice in Switzerland. Olivier Ducrey says: “I’m very much looking forward to working with Charles. He’s a perfect fit in terms of what we need to take the next step forward in developing our Real Estate Practice in Geneva”. Alexander Wyss, Co-Head of the Real Estate Transaction Group, adds: “The Arc Lémanique region is a highly interesting market for real estate transactions and developments and we look forward to developing this market further in tandem with our Geneva colleagues”.

Finally, Baker McKenzie will also be reinforcing its tax practice in Geneva from 1 October 2020 with the addition of Nathan Bouvier as an associate.
