Linklaters designates new Global Practice Head for TMT/IP. Discover Julia Schönbohm

Linklaters is committed to reinvigorating its TMT and IP practice with the appointment of Julia Schönbohm as its new global head.

Since Schönbohm joined the firm as a partner in 2014, she has been involved in contentious and non-contentious proceedings. Able to practice law in Germany and New York, Schönbohm positions herself as a multidisciplinary lawyer, who can work with international clients and has coordinated relevant multi-jurisdictional proceedings. She has experience in working with clients from the pharmaceutical and electronics sectors, among others.

As a token of her recognition, Schönbohm was listed in the "Top 250 Women in IP" ranking as a star in the Intellectual Property practice and was also named in the German JUVE "40 below 40" ranking.

"Julia has very impressive credentials and is well-known in the market for her pragmatic and commercially focused solutions for clients," explains Simon Branigan, Global Head of Linklaters’ Corporate Division. "I have every confidence that our TMT/IP practice will continue to thrive under Julia’s leadership, as we continue to help clients maximise opportunities and navigate threats in this increasingly interconnected, dynamic and demanding world."

Schönbohm has been involved in transactions with proven complexity, most notably with global pharmaceutical companies in the United States and Germany, as well as the German Ministry of Health and U.S. chemical companies.

Through this latest appointment, Linklaters reflects its commitment to diversity in its offices, reporting that 33% and 37% of new partner appointments were women in 2019 and 2018, respectively. In turn, the firm counts 42% of women on its Executive Committee and 36% within its Director Group.
